Full Time Costs Draftsman

The Costs Law Team are looking for someone to join them as a Full Time Costs Draftsman

Job Role

You will assist and contribute to the Costs Law Team and will be based in our Bristol office. 

The main duties of this role will involve the following:

  • Dealing with own caseload;
  • Drafting of all informal costs negotiation documents and all formal court documentation, including formal bills of costs and assessment requests, required for the assessment process as required under the Civil Procedure Rules and advising clients as required;
  • Drafting budgets and negotiating on same.

Key Skills

You should have good keyboard skills, be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. You will need to be highly motivated and have an ability to work independently but within this busy team environment.

Confidence in both written and telephone communications is required, as is an ability to empathise with clients. 


At least one year’s costs drafting experience in litigation work is essential; further training will be given in other areas as and when the need arises

Our minimum requirements for this position also apply, which are 5 GCSE's at grade C or above which must include Maths and English.
